the bliss building

2010

live downtown - live in bliss.

The key to any kitchen is ease. With our design we wanted to be sure that we had great traffic flow and efficient cooking & cleaning. But we also wanted to be able to face friends & family while we prepare coffee, snacks or entire meals.

When clients come by, they love to sit in the kitchen with their laptops on Wi-Fi, and know that they’re right at home – even if they want to help themselves to coffee & cookies.

Every host knows that people tend to hang out in the kitchen at social gatherings. Realizing the kitchen is the center of any good party, it became top priority to create a modern, vibrant, and functional culinary space allowing for many guests.

Deep, rich, espresso brown cabinets ground the kitchen with cool blues and vibrant oranges providing just the right balance of warm excitement and cool comfort. By building an ample 6’x8’ foot island of soapstone cooking area, plus butcher block birch eating area, it’s easy to cook, chat, snack, mingle, eat and even clean up.

Of course, by planning ahead and leaving the dining area to float in open space between the kitchen and living area, small family dinners to lavish four course meals for two dozen can be accommodated at any time...
